About The Instructor

WordPlay T. Jay — a hip hop artist, producer, podcaster, author, and the creator behind the Indie Music Advice YouTube series that helps independent artists understand the real mechanics of the music business. After years of releasing my own music, building a label, and growing an audience online by teaching the craft of music as a business, I developed this course for working musicians who want more control and less guesswork.

Who This Course Is Not For

This course is not designed for beginners who are just learning how to make music, nor for artists seeking songwriting, production, or creative feedback. It’s also not for anyone chasing viral shortcuts, quick playlist wins, or done-for-you marketing. This program is designed for working independent musicians who already have music out and are willing to put in hands-on work between sessions. If you’re not ready to organize your catalog, register your rights, engage with data, and build repeatable systems around your music, this course may not be the right fit.
