Another Q&A with WordPlay T. Jay

Every few weeks, WordPlay T. Jay makes an effort to go through his YouTube comments and answer any questions users may have.
In this two-week Q&A series, he is answering the latest batch.
Going forward, to get quicker answers to your questions, you can text T. Jay at 253-300-0702 and put “Q” at the start of the text so he knows it’s a question.
This week’s questions and answers are:
Q: Nonconformity asked, “Hi what if you had a previously released single but uploading a remastered version for an unpublished album. Would you have to do two separate claims (one for the unpublished/album and the other for the published single)?” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hiTNeRVRDxM)
A: If you're just remastering a single, I think you're good with the main album registration. Unless something significantly changed like the writers or the producers...then don't worry. If you did change the record you should copyright the new version separately.
Q: haji low asked, “What is the name of web to make noleg end of the kilip you say. Pleaze give link of the web.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-mLOCepRFU)
A: Unfortunately, I'm not sure what you mean. To make or get a Google Knowledge Panel, you have to put work out around the web and be sure to seen people to those links. Search yourself and claim your panel when it appears.
Q: B G said, “The only spreadshirt tutorial that makes it plain, thank you.” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-mLOCepRFU)
A: Thanks BG
Q: Mystxry asked, “hey man, I had a quick question. I'm a producer, and say someone used my beat and got 1 mil plays on spotify/youtube. If I signed up for songtrust today, would I be able to claim my cut of that song's royalties?” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qpDLb0E85k&t=2s)
User Jinx replied: You have to do it fast or they will disappear forever.
A: T. Jay said: So the reality is you need to have that be a part of a CONTRACT up front before you sell the instrumental. What ever agreement you had between the two of you, you have to roll with that agreement. Which is why I RARELY buy leased beats. Exclusives only for me. But like Jinx said below you may need to find that person and make an agreement QUICKLY! Then register for Songtrust...
Q: Vankai asked, “Ive just released a song via TUNECORE.. and in the recommend section it says i have another song released..same name but is not me..how do i fix this?” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWR2gjs5nu8)
A: You have two options...change your name, or don't follow their recommended sections' request. That way tunecore can create a separate artist ID for you at each retailer. If it doesn't work, ask Tunecore to fix it.
